Haynest was born in Arles, in the heart of the Crau plain, on our family farm. We harvest, sort and ship the hay your rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas eat ourselves — no middlemen, no compromises.
Why Haynest exists
It all started with a simple observation: the hay sold in pet shops is often yellowed, dusty and untraceable — generic fodder harvested for livestock, then stored for months in plastic.
We know what good hay looks like: our family has been growing it for generations. So we decided to do things differently — harvest at the right moment, dry it in the sun, sort it by hand strand by strand, and ship it straight from the field to your door. That is what Haynest is all about: the hay we would give our own animals, delivered to you.
La Crau, our home ground
Between the Alpilles and the Camargue, the Crau plain is a unique terroir: meadows irrigated by water from the Alps, where some twenty plant species grow side by side. It is this diversity that gives our hay its balance and aroma — and makes your animals rush to it. This is where we harvest, among others, our Premium Crau Hay.

Where does your hay come from?
Mainly from our family farm in the south of France, in the heart of the Crau plain. When we add to our range, we only work with trusted producers who meet the same high standards. Among other things, we produce Premium Crau Hay.
Which animals are your products suitable for?
Rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas and all small herbivorous pets. Each product page states which animals it is suitable for.
Is your hay 100% natural?
Yes: sun-dried, with no pesticides or additives, and grown using sustainable farming practices.
How long does delivery take and how much does it cost?
Orders are dispatched within 1 working day and reach you within 2 to 3 days in France. Delivery to a collection point is free throughout France; home delivery is available as an option.
